Want to know what our clients' plan for life looks like?

We asked our clients three questions about their life plan

This is to give you a closer look at our flagship from their perspective. Read their answers below.

How would you describe in your own words what the MAHOON Life Plan is?
Eliska: Formulating goals and specific steps to meet short and long-term financial needs.

Laurence: A life plan from MAHOON is about thinking strategically, about your long-term financial and personal future. In my experience, the plan is the result of a careful consultation with MAHOON's experts who create a plan that works for the client.

Susan: I would say that a life plan is a form of clarifying what I am working towards and helping me to achieve it. In that it encompasses different aspects of life, it is not just a financial plan as I originally thought, but basically, because of its comprehensiveness, it goes into sorting out my priorities for the next periods (which of course finances can help greatly).

How has the life plan helped or inspired you personally?
Eliška: The process of setting up a life plan, within the framework of very well asked questions, allowed me to realize, map and materialize (on paper) my idea of my own financial security and the steps possible or necessary to achieve it.

Laurence: The life plan inspired me because it focused and clarified my thinking about my long-term financial goals. It also inspired me to be more disciplined in managing my personal finances and planning for the future. I have appreciated the support, expertise and advice from Philip at MAHOON and have confidence that he will continue to guide me. The main advantage of the life plan is that it reflects my personal situation and aspirations.

Susan: As I am just starting out, I am not in a position to judge from a distance, but for now I can say that it has brought me more peace of mind regarding my personal finances. By setting priorities and options, I can see that the basic steps such as funding my current situation, ensuring stability for the future and reducing the time I will be mortgaged should be manageable. Also, the idea that the plan can still be tweaked and adjusted to some degree to meet current conditions and needs is a nice one. It brings a sense of greater independence from unforeseen circumstances and reduced worry. For me personally, the benefit is the feeling that I can still continue to work with my finances and try to make the "most" of a situation when I can, even after basic needs are met. Whether for greater independence in the future (being able to do what I want, have more time for hobbies) or to ensure a peaceful old age.

Why would you recommend others to make a life plan?
Eliska: Life goes by very quickly and we rarely stop and really think about what we expect from the next five, ten or twenty years or more. Where do we want to be, not just professionally or in terms of family life, but how do we want to live our lives and what really makes us happy and fulfills our lives. Whether we like it or not, financial security is necessary to fulfil many needs, which then brings a certain amount of security and peace of mind, especially in old age. For me, for example, a life plan has shown me how I can pay off my mortgage quickly without cutting into my standard of living elsewhere, or how to save wisely for my old age so that I can live the life I want in retirement. The questions asked in the life plan questionnaire, with the help of Philip, who through his experience and empathy can support, elaborate and ultimately formulate your answers into a life plan, allowed me to stop and reflect on these important topics. I really enjoyed the process of setting up the life plan and it exceeded my expectations.

Laurence: Definitely. I think the friendly and supportive environment at MAHOON means that its experts will help develop plans that reflect clients' personal circumstances.

Susan: I would recommend the plan just as an opportunity to see what's possible - whether that's setting priorities in my life to work towards, or getting clear on how I spend my money and what could be improved.
