Pension funds with dynamic strategies gained over 10% last year, with the top four even exceeding 20%.

Conversely, conservative or bond funds did not fare well, mostly ending 2021 in the red due to rapidly rising interest rates in the second half of the year.

This, however, only applies to so-called participating funds - supplementary pension savings, which can be closed since the beginning of 2013. There are about 1.5m people in stakeholder funds. Over 3m people are still in the old ("transformed") funds, which regularly fail to achieve appreciation or the normal inflation rate.
Try looking at your annual statement and find the total annual appreciation on it, if you have an old contract you will probably be unpleasantly surprised.
